Product Information
Bis(ethylmethylamino)silane is an organosilicon compound that has been used as a functionalizing agent in organic synthesis. It is a colorless liquid that can be used in the production of polymers and coatings. The functional theory states that bis(ethylmethylamino)silane reacts with silicon to form Si-C bonds, which are then cleaved to produce hydrogen gas and ethyl amine. The photoelectron microscope (PEEM) has been used to observe the diameter of these nanowires, which ranged from 10-100 nm. PEEM was also used to observe high purity silicon nanowires, which had diameters of 100 nm or less. Bis(ethylmethylamino)silane is activated by light emission and can be used for the growth of nanowires for use in nanomaterials such as semiconductors.
