Product Information
- 3-Bromo-3-Methyl-But-1-Yne
3-Bromo-3-methylbut-1-yne is an allenyl compound that has been shown to undergo a carbonium ion mechanism. The deuterium isotope effect has been studied on the transition state of 3-bromo-3-methylbut-1-yne. A salt effect was observed in the kinetics of 3-bromo-3-methylbut-1-yne dehalogenation. The reaction rate is proportional to the concentration of nucleophiles and the concentration of deuterium. The nucleophilic nature of 3-bromo-3-methylbut-1 -yne allows it to be used in dehalogenation reactions because it can react with other halides, such as fluoride and chloride, which are not nucleophilic.
