Product Information
BI-3406 is a molecule that inhibits the enzyme diacylglycerol acyltransferase (DGAT). This enzyme catalyzes the esterification of diacylglycerols with fatty acids, which are important in regulating lipid metabolism. BI-3406 has been shown to inhibit tumor cell proliferation and induce apoptosis. In addition, this drug has been shown to inhibit inflammatory bowel disease by reducing levels of prostaglandin E2.
BI-3406 also blocks the CCR5 chemokine receptor in T cells, which prevents HIV from entering cells and infecting them with the virus. It also inhibits the activity of proteases, making it a potential treatment for infectious diseases such as malaria and tuberculosis.
