3-Bromo-2-bromomethyl-1-propene is an electrophilic brominating agent that reacts with nucleophilic groups to form a covalent bond. The conjugate of 3-bromo-2-bromomethyl-1-propene with the glutathione amine group is a potent and selective inhibitor of the HER2 receptor tyrosine kinase. It has been shown to react with cysteine residues in human proteins, yielding cysteine conjugates. This reagent can be used for the generation of antibodies against HER2 receptor which are useful in cancer treatment strategies.
