Description:

N-Benzyltrifluoroacetamide is an amide that inhibits the activity of the enzyme fatty acid synthase, which catalyzes the synthesis of fatty acids. It has been shown to be effective against a number of cancers and has been used in the treatment of patients infected with HIV. N-Benzyltrifluoroacetamide is active against a range of cancer cell lines, including breast, pancreatic, ovarian, prostate, and colorectal carcinomas. Its mechanism of action is not known but may involve inhibition of protein synthesis or induction of apoptosis.
