Description:
2,7-Bis-(1H-pyrrol-2-yl)ethynyl-1,8-naphthridine is a calcium binding agent that inhibits the protease activity of subtilisin and other enzymes. It has been shown to inhibit proteolytic enzymes in test samples and human serum. 2,7-Bis-(1H-pyrrol-2-yl)ethynyl-1,8-naphthridine also has anti diabetic effects through its ability to stimulate insulin release from pancreatic beta cells.
