Description

Bis[2-(succinimidooxycarbonyloxy)ethyl] sulfone is a reactive agent that binds to the receptor and inhibits the activity of inflammatory cells. It has been shown to bind to Thp-1 cells, which are a cell line of human monocytes, and inhibit their proliferation. This agent also has been found to be effective in preventing or treating autoimmune diseases such as bowel disease or cervical cancer. Bis[2-(succinimidooxycarbonyloxy)ethyl] sulfone has been shown to specifically inhibit the production of TNF-α and vasoactive intestinal peptide, two cytokines implicated in the development of inflammatory bowel disease.
