Description

N-Boc azepan-4-one is a heterocyclic compound that is used in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals. It is an alkylating agent with a benzyl group as the alkylating agent, which makes it a good candidate for palladium catalysis. The 5-HT7 receptor has been shown to be antagonized by this compound and its analogues, suggesting possible applications in the treatment of anxiety and depression. This compound has also been studied for use as a potential antidepressant due to its ability to inhibit 5-HT2A receptors. The scalable synthesis of this compound has been achieved through the use of various tertiary butyl groups, which are more stable than primary or secondary butyl groups.
