Description

3-Bromo nevirapine (3-BNVP) is a potent inhibitor of histone deacetylase. It has been shown to inhibit transcription, reduce the expression of tumor suppressor genes, and cause cell death in tumour cells. 3-BNVP is also capable of inhibiting growth and inducing apoptosis in cancer cells by deacetylating the transcription factor FOXO1. This drug has been studied in experiments using parameters such as cellular proliferation, cell cycle arrest, and apoptosis induction. 3-BNVP was found to be effective against various cancer types including breast, prostate, lung, and colon cancers. 3-BNVP is currently being investigated for its potential use as a cancer therapy due to its ability to induce programmed cell death in tumor cells with little or no toxicity to normal tissues.
