3-Bromo-7-nitroindazole is a hydrogen bond inhibitor that inhibits the activation of tyrosine kinase JAK2. It has been shown to inhibit locomotor activity and cell nuclei in vivo. 3-Bromo-7-nitroindazole also inhibits neuronal death and homologous protein expression induced by oxidative DNA damage. 3B7NI has been shown to have an antinociceptive effect in vivo, with a dose dependent effect on pain relief. This drug also inhibits guanylate cyclase, which causes vasodilation and may lead to increased blood flow. The mechanism of action of this drug is inhibition of protein synthesis by preventing peptide bond formation on the ribosome during translation.
