Product Information
14-Bromodaunomycinone is a modified daunomycinone that has been designed to increase the affinity of the molecule to phosphatidylcholine. This modification also increases its entrapment efficiency in bilayers. 14-Bromodaunomycinone has been shown to be effective against reticulosarcoma and multilamellar liposomes, which are tumors that have a high choline content. The bromine group on this molecule makes it fluorescent, which allows it to be used in fluorescent microscopy for imaging purposes. The fluorescence is not quenched by the presence of oxygen or other fluorophores, making it ideal for live cell imaging.
