4-Bromopyridine-2-carbonitrile is a solvent with excimer and focuses properties. It is a photoactive sensitizer and can be used in solar cells to increase the conversion of light into electricity. 4-Bromopyridine-2-carbonitrile has been shown to have vibrational, cross-coupling, and photophysical properties. The solubility of this compound in water is low and it is soluble in formic acid, but not in chloroform or acetone. Sorafenib, an anti-cancer drug, binds to the chloride ion receptor on cancer cells and inhibits the growth of these cells by preventing the production of proteins that are vital for cell division.
