Description:
2-n-Butyl-1,3-diazaspiro[4.4]non-1-en-4-one is a cyclization agent that can be used to synthesize carboxamide derivatives. It can be used as an antihypertensive drug and has been shown to have a potent effect in the cyclization of irbesartan. In this reaction, the compound undergoes acid catalysis to form an acylation product. 2-n-Butyl-1,3-diazaspiro[4.4]non-1-en-4-one is also capable of forming amides from carboxylic acids and amines by acylation reactions.
