Product Information
- 1-Butyl-1H-indole1-Butyl-indole
- 1H-indole, 1-butyl-
N-Butylindole is a chemical compound that binds to the cannabinoid receptors CB1 and CB2. It has been shown to bind with high affinity to the CB1 receptor, but not the CB2 receptor. N-Butylindole has also been shown to induce membrane depolarization by binding to the cb1 receptor. The electrospray ionization mass spectrum of n-butylindole shows peaks at m/z 209, 213, and 215. These peaks correspond to alkylation of the compound with chlorine. The chemical structure of n-butylindole is 2-(4'-methylphenyl)-1-(4'-pentyl) indole (C20H26N2). N-Butylindole can be synthesized from 2,3-dibromopentane using a reaction mechanism that involves chlorination followed by hydrolysis and decarboxylation.
