Description:
2-Bromo-4,5-dimethoxybenzyl bromide is a halide that is used in the synthesis of drugs. The pharmacological properties of 2-bromo-4,5-dimethoxybenzyl bromide are not fully understood and there are no data on its toxicity to humans. This chemical is not metabolized by acetylcholinesterase and has been shown to inhibit the activity of this enzyme in vitro. It also inhibits l1210 murine leukemia cells and has been shown to be effective in the treatment of leukemia cells in culture. 2-Bromo-4,5-dimethoxybenzyl bromide has been used as a synthetic precursor for other chemicals in the industrial production of pharmaceuticals.
