Product Information
Dibenzylphosphonoacetic acid is an analog of the natural amino acid ornithine. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of papilloma virus and cancer cells in vitro and in vivo by acting as a competitive substrate for the enzyme ornithine decarboxylase. Dibenzylphosphonoacetic acid also inhibits the activity of kinases, which are enzymes that catalyze chemical reactions involving phosphate groups. In addition, dibenzylphosphonoacetic acid may act as an inhibitor of polyphosphate kinase, which is involved in DNA replication. This drug can be used to treat cancer.
