Description:
Betulin 3-caffeate is a natural product that can be found in the leaves of Betula papyrifera and Betula alba. It is a caffeic acid ester of betulin with an ionic liquid, which has been shown to have anticancer properties in vitro. The extract from this plant has also been shown to inhibit the growth of human lung cancer cells in vitro. Betulin 3-caffeate contains phenolic compounds, such as rutin and betulonic acid, which are thought to contribute to its pharmacological effects. This extract is insoluble in water and methanol, but soluble in fatty acids such as oleic acid and palmitic acid.
