Description:

5-Bromoindole-3-acetic acid is a cytotoxin that can be used in the treatment of cancer. It has been shown to have synergistic effects with radiation when used for cancer therapy. The cytotoxins 5-bromoindole-3-acetic acid and 5,6-dibromoindole-3-acetic acid are synthesized by solid phase synthesis from 3,4,5,6,-tetrabromopyridine. This compound causes cell apoptosis by binding to RNA and DNA molecules.
