Product Information
- N-tert-Butyloxycarbonyl-D-isoleucine
- Boc-D-Ile-OH
Boc-D-Isoleucine is a tetrapeptide that binds to the opioid receptor. It is a macrocyclization of two D-amino acids. Boc-D-Isoleucine has significant activity as an analgesic and its potency is comparable to morphine. Its binding affinity for the opioid receptor is higher than that of other known natural products and it has a high degree of selectivity for the mu receptor, with low affinity for the delta and kappa receptors. The compound also inhibits chloride ion currents in neurons, which may account for its analgesic effects. Boc-D-Isoleucine has been shown to be cytostatic and cytotoxic against tumor cells in vitro.
