5-Bromo-3,4-diamino pyridine is an aromatic aldehyde that has been shown to have the ability to form ionic liquids in the presence of acetone. The structure of this compound is related to its conformation and evaporation rate. 5-Bromo-3,4-diamino pyridine is soluble in acetone and pyridine, but not water. It also has a high melting point and boiling point. This compound can be recrystallized from distilled water or refluxed with ethanol. The stability of this compound is enhanced by hydrogen bonding and filtration.
