Description:
4,4-Bis(methoxymethyl)-2,6-dimethylheptane is an ethylene monomer that is used in the production of polymers. It reacts with a variety of metal compounds to form cyclic esters. The microstructure of 4,4-bis(methoxymethyl)-2,6-dimethylheptane can be changed by the addition of a transition metal ion. The constant for this reaction is 2.7 nmol/g and has been shown with NMR spectra on n-propylbenzoate and elution times in octane chromatography.
