Description:
4-Butyl-2-chloropyrimidine is an inhibitor of 5-lipoxygenase that has shown biological activity in a number of in vitro and in vivo systems. It has been shown to inhibit the production of leukotrienes, which play a role in inflammatory response, from arachidonic acid. 4-Butyl-2-chloropyrimidine is also an inhibitor of cytochrome P450 enzymes and may have potential as a chemotherapeutic agent for cancer treatment.
