Description:
1,4-Bis(bromomethyl)-2,5-dibromobenzene is a naphthalene derivative that can be used as a bifunctional molecule. It has been shown to react with boronic esters in a cross-coupling reaction to form bifunctional compounds. The thermally stable and thermodynamically more stable polymorphic form is the orthorhombic form, which can be obtained by crystallization from propanediol. 1,4-Bis(bromomethyl)-2,5-dibromobenzene has been shown to have optical properties in the visible range of the electromagnetic spectrum.
