Product Information
5'-Bromo-3,4'-dihexyl-2,2'-bithiophene is a nonlinear optical polymer that exhibits a strong electrochromic response to applied voltage. The polymer's optical absorption and emission are dependent on the orientation of the polymer with respect to the incident light. When oriented parallel to the incident light, it exhibits an absorption peak at 450 nm and an emission peak at 510 nm. When oriented perpendicular to the incident light, it exhibits an absorption peak at 350 nm and an emission peak at 420 nm. When exposed to UV radiation, 5'-Bromo-3,4'-dihexyl-2,2'-bithiophene undergoes a series of photochemical reactions that result in a change in its molecular structure. This change leads to a shift in its optical properties from those observed for orientations parallel to the incident light (450 nm and 510 nm) to those observed for orientations perpendicular to the incident light (350 nm and 420
