5-Bromo-2-fluoroaniline is an isomer of aniline that has a sulfur substituent in the para position. It has been used to synthesize sulfonamides and other drugs. 5-Bromo-2-fluoroaniline is also a ligand for several ionotropic glutamate receptors, playing a role in neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. 5-Bromo-2-fluoroaniline can be used as a probe to determine the presence of chloride ions in a solution by measuring its fluorescence intensity.
