Description:

Boc-L-Cys(pMeBzl)-OH is an amino acid that contains a free cysteine residue. This product can be used in the synthesis of peptides, which are short chains of amino acids. The free cysteine residue can be chemically activated and then reacted with other molecules through a process called chemical ligation. Boc-L-Cys(pMeBzl)-OH is also used as a linker for coupling to solid-phase supports, such as polystyrene beads or silica gel. These supports are used in the synthesis of peptides by solid-phase methods. Boc-L-Cys(pMeBzl)-OH has been shown to have natriuretic properties and is also able to bind hyaluronic acid and synthetic monoclonal antibodies.
