Boc-L-Orn(Fmoc)-OH is a fluorescent compound that belongs to the class of amides. It has been used as a reagent for the synthesis of recombinant proteins and chemists have found it to be useful in their methodologies. Boc-L-Orn(Fmoc)-OH has also been shown to be a good chromophore, which is an organic substance that can be excited by light and emit light with a different wavelength.
