Product Information
- Benzoic acid, 2-bromo-4-methoxy-
- 2-Bromo-4-MethoxybenzoicAcid
2-Bromo-4-methoxybenzoic acid is an organic compound that is used as a catalyst for asymmetric hydrogenation. This catalytic agent is able to reduce the racemic mixture of olefins and dienes to the corresponding optically active alcohols, ketones, or carboxylic acids. 2-Bromo-4-methoxybenzoic acid has been shown to be selective in its catalytic activity, with high enantioselectivity being observed in the conversion of biphenyls to atropisomers. The biphenyls are converted with high efficiency and without racemization by using a chiral macrocyclic ligand.
