3-Bromoindazole (BI) is a nitrogen-containing analog that can inhibit the activity of kinases and has been shown to be selective for one or more specific protein kinases. 3-Bromoindazole is an inhibitor of acetylcholine nicotinic receptors, which are found on neuron membranes. It has been shown to induce apoptotic cell death in cancer cells. This compound was also shown to inhibit the p38 signaling pathway in an animal model.
