Product Information
4-Bromomethyl benzoyl bromide is a cell culture agent that inhibits cationic polymerization. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of k562 cells by interfering with membrane potential, which is an indicator of cellular viability. The supramolecular structure of 4-bromomethyl benzoyl bromide is hydrophobic and can be used as a probe for the study of membrane potential. 4-Bromomethyl benzoyl bromide has also been used to measure mitochondrial membrane potential in living cells through fluorescence microscopy and acyl halides reactions. This compound was found to react quickly with aldehydes, leading to radical coupling reactions.
