Description:
Bis(methylthio)methane is a chemical compound that can be used as an analytical reagent for wastewater treatment. It can also be used to synthesize isovaleric acid, which is a chemical intermediate in the production of polyurethane. Bis(methylthio)methane has been shown to have conformational properties and insoluble polymer-like behavior. This compound has been shown to inhibit hepg2 cells in vitro, with an IC50 of 0.5 mM. Bis(methylthio)methane also exhibits asymmetric synthesis and ethyl formate-dependent radical scavenging activities.
