Product Information
- 4-(1,1-Dimethylethyl)benzenecarbothioamide
- 4-(tert-Butyl)thiobenzamide
- Benzenecarbothioamide, 4-(1,1-dimethylethyl)-
4-tert-Butylbenzenecarbothioamide is an organic compound that contains a carboxylic acid group. It is used as a terminal oxidant in photovoltaic devices and as an electron donor in electrochemical reactions. The oxidation of this molecule produces molecular oxygen, which can be used to generate electricity or can be converted into hydrogen peroxide. 4-tert-Butylbenzenecarbothioamide has been shown to produce yields of up to 95% when oxidized with molecular oxygen, making it an excellent candidate for use in the production of hydrogen peroxide. This molecule also shows the ability to dimerize under certain conditions, making it possible to store more than one molecule at a time.
