Description:

5-Bromo-2-fluorobenzonitrile is a tricycle that inhibits the activity of Jak2 and suppresses cancer cell growth. It binds to the ATP binding site of Jak2 and prevents it from phosphorylating tyrosine residues on proteins, which are required for signal transduction. This drug has been shown to suppress the growth of tumours in mice by suppressing the proliferation of cancer cells. 5-Bromo-2-fluorobenzonitrile also inhibits chloride currents, which may be due to its ability to inhibit cellular proliferation.
