Description:

Boc-D-Asp-OH is a cyclic peptide with inhibitory effects on glutamate. It has been shown to have potent inhibition of glutamate release in the rat brain and spinal cord, as well as in cultured cells. Boc-D-Asp-OH also prevents neuronal cell death induced by glutamate. This compound has a number of functionalities, such as being an analog of D-Aspartate and having an amide bond. Boc-D-Asp-OH has been found to be present at physiological levels in human urine and plasma samples from women with breast cancer. In addition, this compound has been demonstrated to have potential therapeutic properties for skin cancer and other cancers that are dependent on glutamatergic activity.
