Boc-D-glu-OH is a potent inhibitor of the enzyme glutamic acid decarboxylase, which is involved in the biosynthesis of glutamic acid. It has been shown to inhibit cell proliferation in mammalian cells. Boc-D-glu-OH binds to the surface glycoprotein on the cell membrane and prevents its interaction with other proteins.
