Product Information
4-Bromo-3-hydroxybenzyl alcohol (4OHBA) is a chemical that has been shown to have a high affinity for the GABA receptor. It has been shown to produce a decarboxylase activity in rat brain tissue samples and can also bind to the NMDA receptor. 4OHBA is an agonist of methemoglobin, which can lead to a decrease in oxygen delivery to tissues and cells. The drug also has mitogenic properties, which may be due to its ability to activate protein kinase C. 4OHBA is used as a powder preparation at high concentrations for research purposes only.
