Boc-glycine hydrazide (BGH) is a phenolic antioxidant that has been shown to have the ability to scavenge free radicals. It can also protect against glyoxal-induced oxidation, which is an important reaction in biodiesel production. BGH has been shown to be more effective than other phenolic antioxidants, such as butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA), and it has lower toxicity in vivo. BGH is used as a co-antioxidant with other antioxidants, such as ascorbic acid and vitamin E, and it has been shown to improve the yields of biodiesel production at low temperatures. The molecular structure of BGH is similar to methyl ester and rapeseed oil, which are two fossil fuels.
