4-Bromobenzotrifluoride is a catalyst that is used in the Suzuki coupling reaction. It has been shown to be effective in cross-coupling reactions with aryl halides, chlorides, and nitro compounds. This chemical agent can also be used to catalyse reductive aminations of carbonyl groups, including dimethyl fumarate. 4-Bromobenzotrifluoride has a redox potential of -1.91 V, which is low enough to make it suitable for use as an oxidizing agent in organic synthesis. This chemical agent can also transport chloride ions across membranes.
