Guanidine is a guanidinium cation that is used in the treatment of autoimmune diseases, cancer, and aspartyl receptor activity. Boc-guanidine is an efficient method for the synthesis of guanidine. It has been shown to be effective in treating inflammatory diseases and neutral pH conditions. Boc-guanidine inhibits glycogen synthase kinase-3 (GSK3) and membrane interactions, which are associated with a number of human disorders. It also has antimicrobial properties against marine microorganisms.
