Description

N,N'-Bis-Boc-1-guanylpyrazol is a tetrapeptide that is used as a reagent in organic synthesis. It has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on the production and release of melanocortin and its related peptides, which are important for the regulation of body weight, appetite, and mood. N,N'-Bis-Boc-1-guanylpyrazol binds to sulfate groups on chondroitin sulfate proteoglycans. The inhibition of these sulfated proteoglycans leads to decreased levels of hyaluronic acid and a lack of water retention in the joints. This can cause symptoms such as pain and stiffness in joints, particularly those affected by osteoarthritis.
