Description

N,N'-Bis(methylphenyl) 1,4-benzenediamine is a cross-linking agent that can be used to modify the properties of polymers. It is used in the production of polyurethane foams and coatings for metal surfaces. N,N'-Bis(methylphenyl) 1,4-benzenediamine is insoluble in water and organic solvents, but soluble in acetone. This product can be used as a calcium carbonate filler or as a cross-linking agent for magnesium oxide and triamine phosphate. The use of this product can lead to decreased porosity and increased hardness. When mixed with calcium stearate and acid catalyst, this compound can be used as an antioxidant composition. N,N'-Bis(methylphenyl) 1,4-benzenediamine has been shown to have good thermal stability and is not affected by ultraviolet light.
