Description:
5-Bromothiophene-2-sulfonamide is a cationic surfactant that is used in detergents, shampoos, and bath oils. It is also an antibacterial agent that kills bacteria by disrupting the lipid bilayer membrane of the cell wall. 5-Bromothiophene-2-sulfonamide has been shown to have potent inhibitory effects on the growth of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Salmonella typhi, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella pneumoniae, and Acinetobacter baumannii. This compound has also been shown to have constant inhibitory properties against all bacterial strains tested.
