Bis(3-flUorophenyl) disulfide is a photoelectron diffraction material that is used to study the spatial arrangement of molecules. It has been used in the construction of hybridization devices, desorption devices and immobilizing devices. Bis(3-flUorophenyl) disulfide can be used to detect electron transfer reactions at room temperature and below, with a limit of detection of 1 picomole (10 amol). This compound can also be used as an electron donor or acceptor in organic semiconductors. It has been shown that bis(3-flUorophenyl) disulfide can be synthesized by reacting 3-fluoroaniline and thiourea.
