Description:
N-tert-Butyl-2-thiophenesulfonamide is an organic chemical compound that is used as a deprotection reagent in organic synthesis. It reacts with methoxy groups to form tert-butyl dianions, which can be tracked by following the lithium diisopropylamide (LDA) equilibration and subsequent reaction with thiophene. The product of this reaction can be isolated by removing the solvent under vacuum, yielding a trackable solution. N-tert-Butyl-2-thiophenesulfonamide can also be used to synthesize carbanions.
