5-Bromo-1,3-dihydro-2H-pyrrolo[2,3-b]pyridin-2-one is a cancer drug that is a potent inhibitor of angiogenesis. This compound has been shown to inhibit tumor growth in vitro and in vivo. 5-Bromo-1,3-dihydro-2H-pyrrolo[2,3-b]pyridin-2-one also shows antiangiogenic activity in mouse models of cancer. The antitumor effects of this drug are mediated by inhibition of the protein tyrosine kinases VEGF receptor 1 (VEGFR1) and VEGFR2.
