Description:
5-Bromopyridin-2-yl)acetonitrile is a pyridine that can be synthesized in two ways. The first way is by reacting 2-cyanopyridine with a brominating agent to make 5-bromopyridin-2-yl)acetonitrile. The other way is by cyclizing the nitrile group of acetonitrile in the presence of a base. This reaction yields the same product, but with higher yields.
