Description

2,8-Bis(trifluoromethyl)-4-hydroxyquinoline is an 8-hydroxyquinoline derivative with a trifluoromethyl group. It has been shown to be effective against sclerotiorum and other fungal plant diseases. 2,8-Bis(trifluoromethyl)-4-hydroxyquinoline is a membrane active agent that inhibits the growth of fungi by inhibiting their cell membranes. The compound has also been shown to inhibit the development of botrytis cinerea and quinine on leaves in vitro. In addition, this compound can be found in natural products such as the bark of the black walnut tree.
