Product Information
- Quinazoline, 6-Bromo-
6-Bromoquinazoline is a synthetic glutamate receptor ligand that has been shown to have anti-proliferative activities. It binds to the metabotropic glutamate receptor and is chemically related to cisplatin. 6-Bromoquinazoline has been shown to have high affinity for the metabotropic glutamate receptor, with a Ki of 3.2 nM in rat brain tissue, and it has been shown to inhibit the proliferation of human breast cancer cells, MCF7, and human ovarian cancer cells, SKOV3. 6-Bromoquinazoline also binds with high affinity to the radioligand binding assay in rat brain tissue (Ki = 2.6 nM) and can be used as an antagonist at the metabotropic glutamate receptor. Structural analysis of this molecule reveals that it also has aldehyde groups in its chemical structure, which may contribute to its activity at the metabotropic glutamate receptor.
