5-Bromo-2,3-dihydroxypyridine is a dihydropyridine compound that belongs to the class of compounds known as pyridines. It is an attenuating agent and has been shown to have a inhibitory effect on cancer cells by affecting the synthesis of DNA and RNA. 5-Bromo-2,3-dihydroxypyridine can be used as a chemoenzymatic tool for the synthesis of caffeic acid. Caffeic acid has been shown to have anticancer properties. In addition, this chemical can also be used as an inhibitory agent in mathematical modeling.
