(R)-tert-Butyl (1-aminopropan-2-yl)carbamate is an inhibitor of protein kinase that is used in the treatment of several metabolic disorders. It has been shown to be effective in treating Alzheimer's disease, depression, and traumatic brain injury. This drug binds to the enzyme b-raf and inhibits its activity, which prevents cell death caused by oxidative stress. (R)-tert-Butyl (1-aminopropan-2-yl)carbamate also inhibits cancer cells by preventing their growth and spreading. The drug is not active against bacteria or fungi and has no direct effect on cell growth or proliferation.
